1. Introduction

At Shemy Living Studio, operated by Michelle Moura Doherty, County Donegal, Ireland, we are committed to delivering high-quality design services and digital products. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be requested, approved, or declined, and applies to all purchases made through shemyliving.com or directly with our studio.

By booking a service or purchasing a product through our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund Policy.

2. Our Services & Product Categories

Our refund terms vary depending on the type of service or product purchased. We offer the following categories:

Online Courses & Workshops scheduled and on-demand

  • Design Consultations online and in person

  • Design Packages: concept design, mood boards, sourcing, and project management
  • Digital Products: downloadable guides, e-books, design templates

3. Design Consultations

Full refund: Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation will receive a full refund to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Rescheduling: We are happy to reschedule your consultation at no charge if requested at least 24 hours in advance. Two free rescheduling per booking are permitted. Subsequent changes may incur an administration fee.

No refund: Cancellations made within less than 12 hours of the appointment, or non-attendance without prior notice (no-show), are not eligible for a refund. The session fee will be forfeited.

Partial refund: Cancellations made within less than 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booking value, at our discretion and depending on preparation work already completed.

4. Design Packages

Design packages involve significant preparation, creative work, and resource allocation prior to and during delivery. As such, the following terms apply:

  • After project commencement: Once work has begun, refunds will  be assessed on a pro-rata basis, reflecting the value of work completed to date. A written itemisation of completed deliverables will be provided upon request.

  • Before project commencement: If you cancel a design package before work has commenced, the deposit is forfeited. Any balance paid above the deposit will be refunded within 10 business days.

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30–50% of the total package fee (confirmed at the time of booking) is required to secure your project start date. This covers initial research, briefing, and scheduling costs.

  • Dissatisfaction: If you are not satisfied with the work delivered, we ask that you contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@shemyliving.com. We are committed to resolving concerns through revisions where reasonable, before any refund consideration is made. Our packages include a defined number of revision rounds as stated in your service agreement.

  • Completed deliverables: No refund will be issued for design elements, mood boards, concept documents, or sourcing lists that have already been delivered and accepted by the client.

5. Digital Products

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and Irish consumer protection law, digital products including downloadable guides, e-books, design templates, and resource packs are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded.

By completing your purchase, you expressly consent to immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived upon download or access.

Exception: If a digital product is found to be faulty, corrupted, or materially different from its description, please contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will provide a replacement file or full refund at our discretion.

6. Online Courses & Workshops

  • On-demand courses: Once access to course materials has been granted, purchases are non-refundable, in line with EU digital content regulations.

  • Scheduled live workshops: Full refunds are available if cancellation is requested more than 7 days before the event date. Cancellations within 7 days are not eligible for a refund but may be transferred to a future workshop date, subject to availability.

  • Technical issues: If you experience technical difficulties preventing access to course content, please contact us within 48 hours at info@shemyliving.com and we will work to resolve the issue promptly. Refunds due to technical failure on our platform will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

7. AI-Powered Tools (EcoAccess AI Beta) soon

Access to EcoAccess AI beta features will be provided as a complimentary addition to selected Shemy Living Studio services. Where a standalone fee applies in future, specific refund terms will be published and communicated at the point of purchase. Beta access fees, if any, are non-refundable given the experimental and evolving nature of the platform.

8. Payment Plans

Where a payment plan has been agreed in writing, the following applies:

  • Cancellation before the second instalment is due: the first instalment is non-refundable; remaining instalments are cancelled.

  • Missed instalments without prior communication may result in suspension of service delivery until payment is resolved.

  • Cancellation after two or more instalments have been paid: refund eligibility is assessed on a pro-rata basis reflecting work completed to date.

9. Faulty or Incorrectly Described Services

Under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 (Ireland) and applicable EU consumer rights legislation, you are entitled to a remedy if a service or product is:

  • Not as described at the point of purchase

  • Not delivered within an agreed or reasonable timeframe

  • Not fit for the stated purpose

In such cases, please contact us at info@shemyliving.com within 14 days of the issue arising. We will offer a repair, replacement, or full refund as appropriate.

10. How to Request a Refund

Include the following in your request:

The date of purchase or booking

  • Your full name and booking or order reference

  • The reason for your refund request

  • The service or product purchased

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and aim to resolve all refund queries within 10 business days of receiving full information.

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider (typically 5–10 business days).

11. Brazilian Clients

For clients based in Brazil, your rights under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (CDC — Law 8.078/1990) are respected in addition to our standard policy. The CDC grants consumers a 7-day cooling-off period for purchases made remotely (online). Where applicable, refund requests submitted within this window will be honoured in full, regardless of the product or service category.

We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date. We recommend reviewing this page periodically. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
